Upper bracket final: GEN vs HLE, KR

The League of Legends Champions Korea upper bracket final opposes the top two teams of the LCK 2026 regular season. While Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports finished with the same score, they didn’t take the path to get there.

Gen.G had a slower start in Spring and picked up the pace in August. On the other hand, HLE proved to be the best team in Spring but failed to keep that title through the Summer. As they are about to face off, it’s Gen.G who’s been the more decisive team.

HLE is explosive and swears only by fighting. Usually, this pays off for them as their skirmishing and teamfighting is excellent. Gen.G is the opposite as they are the slow and calculating team of the LCK. Gen.G will passively gain leads through the lane before making objectives uncontestable with better vision setup.

Stylistically, this is a poor matchup for HLE. In fact, Gen.G already won the last two matches. Hanwha Life’s main saving grace is their deep champion pools if the match goes to four or five games.
