Former NaVi Junior CS2 roster signs with FUT Esports

NaVi announced that it has successfully sold its academy team as its outgoing CS2 Junior roster has signed with Turkish esports organization FUT Esports.

The Ukrainian organization NaVi announced in June its plans to sell its CS2 academy team because of new rules set forward by Valve. The team had a high VRS ranking thanks to its spectacular performances of late, but Valve’s limitations ensured it would be unable to progress any further under NaVi’s brand given the prominence of the primary NaVi team and Valve’s rules against multiple teams representing one organization. This is why NaVi decided to move academy star Drin “makazze” Shaqiri to its main roster and sell the remainder of the squad.

NaVi’s decision to keep makazze has provem to be beneficial to its main team as he has maintained his high performance level on the main roster, and has now announced that FUT has signed its former Junior roster. FUT entered Counter-Strike in May with a French-speaking team and is seemingly switching to a more established core with its higher VRS standing.

In a tweet, FUT shared a picture of its new roster that included four players and a coach from NaVi’s former Junior team.

FUT thanked NaVi for its “positive approach and trust” in a follow-up tweet, through which the team listed its new and complete CS2 roster:  Aulon “⁠Krabeni⁠” Fazlija, Dmytro “⁠dem0n⁠” Myroshnychenko, Nikita “⁠cmtry⁠” Samolotov, Džiugas “⁠dziugss⁠” Steponavičius, and András “⁠coolio⁠” Fercsák have all joined FUT in the transfer from NaVi Junior.

FUT has retained Kévin “⁠misutaaa⁠” Rabier as the only remaining player from its previous squad to fill the new fifth spot, which was vacant because of makazze’s promotion to NaVi’s main team. There was no confirmation at the time of writing whether Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom is still part of FUT.

FUT’s previous roster hadn’t played many matches yet, as the team was relatively new and only entered CS2 at the end of May. The Turkish organization proved quick to switch out the majority of those players.  NaVi Juniors’ significantly higher VRS ranking is a big plus point for FUT. The roster move should be mutually beneficial for FUT and its new players who are now free to compete without concern for where the main NaVi team is playing.

In a tweet, NaVi expressed confidence in FUT being helpful in NaVi Juniors’ return and future in the competitive CS2 scene. The Ukrainian organization thanked its former roster and pointed out that it had reached the top 30 VRS rankings in under a year. The roster’s potential is now up to how they play and is not limited by Valve’s rules. Tournaments that were previously limited are now accessible, and the team can progress further as long as it maintains its successful form.

FUT’s new roster will debut at RES Showdown 2 and will also take part in Blast Bounty 2025 Season 2. This gives the players ample time to display their drive for success and return with a bang to competitive Counter-Strike 2 play.
