Who will win the PGL Wallachia Season 9? Here are the favorites

PGL Wallachia Season 9 is taking place from September 17 to 27 with 16 of the best Dota 2 teams competing for the title and a share of the $1 million prize pool.

This is the first post-TI tournament, and plenty of teams have undergone roster changes leading up to it. That begs the question, who will win the PGL Wallachia Season 9? Here is our prediction.

PGL Wallachia Season 9 favorites

People who’ve been following the recent Dota 2 events won’t be surprised that Team Yandex is the big favorite to win the tournament. In fact, the Eastern European powerhouse already advanced through the Group Stage successfully after securing three victories.

The team defeated MOUZ, Team Nemesis and Natus Vincere. Team Yandex has one of the most robust Dota 2 rosters right now, especially after the recent roster changes and the addition of Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf.

Despite their disappointing results at The International 2026, Xtreme Gaming remains a solid favorite to win PGL Wallachia Season 9 (we thought it wouldn’t make the cut originally, but the team is doing much better than expected).

The Chinese squad has been flawless so far and already secured three victories after defeating LGD, Conventus Stellarum and Pibbles Corp. XG has a lot more experience than most participants here and the players will want to redeem themselves for their poor results at TI15.

Lastly, we believe that 1w Team and Aurora Gaming are the two competitors that could potentially lift the trophy. Both have a 2:1 record so far, so they need to win one more game in order to advance to the Playoffs. 1w Team has a very competitive roster with the likes of bzm and 33, whereas Aurora has proven many times in 2026 that it can step up its game when needed.

Polymarket has Team Yandex as the favorite to win

A quick look at Polymarket reveals interesting stats. At the time of writing, 56% of people believe that Team Yandex will win the competition. MOUZ is next with 30% and after that we have Coventus Stellarum with 29%, followed by 1w Team, and LGD Gaming with 26%. Despite already securing three victories, Xtreme Gaming comes next on the prediction market with 18%.

If we look at current performance, we can see that these Dota 2 teams live up to expectations. Team Yandex already has three wins and will advance to the next phase, whereas MOUZ has two losses and can’t afford to lose another series.

1w Team and LGD Gaming are also in the same boat because both of them have two wins and one loss. They need to do whatever is needed to secure another victory if they wish to advance to the next stage. Keep in mind that the Playoffs will begin on September 24, so we have a few more days of epic Group Stage mages.

PGL Wallachia Season 9 is the first big Dota 2 competition on the Dota 2 patch 7.41f, so it will be very interesting to see the final results. Don’t forget to follow us for more information.
