Upper Bracket Quarterfinals matchups

After four days of intense competition in a gripping Swiss-system format, we have our eight playoff teams for PGL Wallachia. There were some close match-ups but the biggest surprise was Tundra winning their final matchup against PARIVISION to secure the berth. Despite winning DreamLeague Season 28 just earlier this month, Tundra have plummeted in many observer’s estimations.

Meanwhile, HEROIC have outperformed their predicted spot, and now look poised to take a high finish at this event, providing they can continue the level of play they’ve managed to conjure. With some surprising playoff contenders, and many of the same familiar faces, it’s set to be a hard-fought bracket.

HEROIC vs. BetBoom Team

On paper, just a month prior, most observers would have instantly pointed to BetBoom as being the obvious winners of this matchup. But throughout the group stage, HEROIC have punched above their weight, taking down Yandex, Aurora, and NAVI. Still, consistency will be the biggest bugbear for this team.

  • HEROIC will need stellar performances from Yuma and Wisper.
  • Meanwhile BetBoom must just stay consistent.
  • HEROIC can be banned out, and must be kept off gimmick heroes like Pudge and Bristleback.
  • Our pick is BetBoom 2-1.

Team Spirit vs. Vici Gaming

Despite being a replacement team for a stack with visa issues, Vici Gaming have brought the Wings Gaming energy with Faith_bian and y’. Still, they’re facing a hungry Team Spirit that’s not seen the success they likely feel they deserve. Collapse, Yatoro and company have been starved since EWC 2025, and are gearing up to perform well.

  • Vici Gaming is in rare form and outperformed their regional rivals.
  • But Spirit are still one of the best teams in the world.
  • Our pick to win: Team Spirit 2-1.

Team Yandex vs. Aurora Gaming

Both Team Yandex and Aurora Gaming are suffering with stand-ins, although their performance wouldn’t show that. Instead, we’re seeing a pair of teams that are making the best of the situation and playing to the strengths of their substitutes, with their core players stepping up and making plays.

  • In terms of raw talent, we prefer Yandex over Aurora.
  • Yandex’s players have been in these high pressure playoff situations more often.
  • Our only 2-0 prediction of the day, we expect Yandex to soundly beat Aurora.

Team Liquid vs. Tundra Esports

The two champions of the previous two Tier 1 events clash in the first stage of the playoffs in what could be the match of the day… or a one-sided stomp. Tundra just aren’t Tundra without Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko. And while David “Parker” Nicho Flores has stepped up and performed incredibly, they’re going against a refreshed Team Liquid team. While their last meeting was a 2-0 victory for Tundra, we’re predicting things go the other way in this match-up.

  • Micke, when put in position to succeed, is unstoppable
  • Tundra has a stand-in and has struggled during groups.
  • We predict 2-1 to Team Liquid.

PGL Wallachia Season 7 Playoff betting tips

With the above matchups in mind, you might have spotted a pattern: There’s not many clear-cut winners and losers in this upcoming stage. The overall performance of teams across the board has been high, with many surpassing their expectations, or even under performing. The stand-ins, as we predicted in our group stage preview, have created a number of confusing outcomes.

With direct results being more of a coin toss, it’s perhaps better to look towards other avenues.

  • Prop bets are a better avenue when direct results are close with low odds variance.
  • For Playoffs, stats which have good averages based on existing data, such as ‘Total Kills’ or ‘First to 5 Kills’ are better propositions.
  • Since individual odds for win/loss are low, parlays can have good dividends.

Good luck, and stick with Jaxon.gg for coverage throughout PGL Wallachia Season 7, and keep your eyes peeled for more Dota 2 news, guides, and more.
