Spun Mídia acquires MIBR from Immortals Gaming Club

Spun Mídia, a mediatech from Brazil, has completed the acquisition of MIBR from Immortals Gaming Club (IGC) for an undisclosed fee on October 24th.

The acquisition will move the MIBR operations to EZOR, Spun’s newly-created esports division, which also owns fellow esports organization LOS Grandes.

MIBR is one of the best esports teams in Brazil, and one of the oldest too, as the brand dates back to 2003. IGC acquired the MIBR brand in 2018, mostly because of CS:GO, as they went on to sign two-time Major champions Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, Marcelo “coldzera” David, and Fernando “fer” Alvarenga from SK Gaming to revive MIBR, which had ceased operations in 2012.

Nowadays, MIBR boasts teams in CS2, VALORANT, and Rainbow Six Siege. But that could change soon, as Spun has promised to invest R$100 million ($18.5 million USD) into EZOR in the next five years.

How will MIBR operate under EZOR

EZOR will be led by three executives: Spun’s CEO João Pedro Manetti, MIBR’s CEO Roberta Coelho, and LOS’ CEO Alexandre “kakavel” Peres. Together, they will act “strategically” and define new investments and goals for each brand, according to the official press release.

This will be what Spun, MIBR, and LOS will bring to EZOR:

• Spun: Platform and capital vision
• MIBR: Competitive excellence and brand building
• LOS: Creators’ culture and social entertainment

João Pedro Manetti explained why Spun is making this major investment in esports and gaming now. The mediatech owns LOS since 2024, but the acquisition of MIBR is a significant investment.

Roberta Coelho, who has been MIBR’s CEO since September 2021, commented what the acquisition means for MIBR.

The immediate goal for MIBR is to strengthen its position in CS2 esports from now on. The organization has lost its relevancy over the past few years, as other teams such as FURIA, paiN, and, more recently, Legacy, have done better in international tournaments.
