Top CS2 pro says “CS2 sucks,” and here’s why

Counter-Strike 2 currently has many flaws in the system, but popular player Robin “ropz” Kool has a pretty surprising reason for why the game sucks.

Like any multiplayer game, CS2 isn’t without its flaws. Despite its glitches, it has continued to be the preferred choice for shooter players looking to take up methodical yet explosive 5v5 gunfights. But some game-breaking issues are difficult to put aside, like the recent desync and hit reg problems. And yet, that’s not why ropz thinks CS2 is in a terrible state.

In a video, ropz discussed CS2’s state of play and explained how the game just doesn’t cut it without bunny hopping. He took it as far as to say that “CS2 sucks” without it.

ropz says CS2 sucks without bunny hopping

Bunny hopping is a movement technique where players jump repeatedly in quick succession while strafing in the air. This allows them to move faster than the game’s normal running speed and makes them harder to hit. It still exists in CS2, but Valve has made it much harder for players to achieve it.

When CS2 was released, Valve tweaked the powerful movement to match the feel of bunny hopping in CSGO running at 128 tick. Movement enthusiasts would accept that this trick was slightly more challenging to replicate on FACEIT. This is likely due to a smaller window for each jump input due to the higher update frequency.

Since CS2 has a subtick system that is closer to 128 than 64 tick in terms of feel, Bunny Hopping has become scarce, and ropz isn’t happy about that.

“Bunny hopping being removed from the game is a punch to the players who played all the movement modes like KZ, Surf & B Hopping. Just B hop and make a flashy play was always an option but now you can’t, and it just sucks, CS2 sucks,” said ropz.

While this is a pretty bold statement, it’s hard to say if ropz is serious because of his quirky sense of humor and previous comments praising CS2 as better than the earlier rendition. In any case, bunny hopping was a big part of the franchise. Many in the community hope to see its return in the future.
