Top Esports vs Invictus Gaming: LPL 2026 Regional Finals prediction

Top Esports and Invictus Gaming will play to kick off the LPL Regional Finals and try to earn the region’s third spot at the 2026 League of Legends World Championship. On September 17, 11am CEST / 5am EST, the winner of TES vs IG will qualify for Worlds. Then, the loser will get a second and final chance on the 19th as they’ll face the winner of Team WE vs JD Gaming. The prediction markets have IG as the favorite.

Why the market favors Invictus Gaming

The first obvious reason to go for IG over TES is that this match happened just two weeks ago, and IG took the win. It has to be noted, though, that the series only went 3-2 for Invictus Gaming. Additionally, TES was almost always ahead in the early game.

Invictus Gaming ended up losing the one game in which they had an early lead. IG is a volatile team and not one that can be trusted to tick all the boxes when they play. However, the fact is that they won that match and that they found a way to come back from sizeable deficits twice in the series.

IG had a fiery run through the LPL playoffs. Starting from the bottom, they did not have the luxury of an extra life. Nevertheless, they won four series in a row to only fall to Anyone’s Legend in the lower final.

Invictus Gaming lost 2-3, and AL then went on to win the playoffs and become the LPL Split 3 champion. For IG’s only loss in the bracket, this really isn’t bad. Especially when comparing their League of Legends stats to TES who lost both of their series without winning any.

There is also a possibility that the market is influenced in part by the fact that people want IG to win. Invictus Gaming has a star roster, while Top Esports fumbles every single time they play at an international. At MSI 2026, they made history by being the region’s first ever Bo5 loss against an LCP opponent.

Prediction: Invictus Gaming to win

The last match between Invictus Gaming and Top Esports was close, perhaps closer than it needed to be. Then again, this is IG, they will not perform cleanly, and a win is the best one can ask from them. Regardless, Invictus Gaming has been highly competitive while Top Esports already shows signs of their regularly-scheduled choking in important matches. As such, it’d only make sense for IG to win this time again.
