Valve dropped the latest Dota 2 patch and it’s the first update since TI 2026 came to an end. To be honest, most of us expected a big update that would change the game from the ground up, but that hasn’t been the case.

Before taking a deep look at everything new from the Dota 2 Patch 7.41f, we decided to highlight some of the more interesting changes. There are a few balance updates that will have a big impact on the current meta, so let’s dive in.

Item Updates

The latest Dota 2 update includes several small but important item changes. You won’t find any major reworks, but there are a few aspects that deserve more attention:

  • Satanic’s bonus lifesteal is now 25% (down from 30%), whereas the creep lifesteal is 15% (it was 18% before). This means it will be a little harder for heroes relying solely on lifesteal to stay afloat.
  • Hydra’s Breath’s recipe is now 1000 gold instead of 1100, but its total cost remains the same. That’s because Dragon Lance costs 100g more than before.

Outside of that, the latest update also adds minor tweaks to Shiva’s Guard (it deals 35 damage less than before), Octarine Core (the recipe costs 200g more) and Silver Edge (more CD, less Shadow Walk bonus ms), among others.

In terms of the Neutral Items, Greedy now adds a 35/70 attack damage penalty instead of 30/60.

Hero Updates

Like the item updates, Dota 2 patch 7.41f gave us access to loads of smaller buffs and nerfs. This was expected after the end of TI15, so here is a quick overview of some of the more significant changes:

  • Bounty Hunter – The hero’s Track now provides 80/160/240 self-bonus gold instead of 130/225/320. The Allied bonus gold is also down to 40/80/120 from 50/90/130. BH also has small talent changes.
  • Centaur Warrunner – His base damage is down by 2 and base MS is now 295 instead of 300. Also, Hitch a Ride now has a 200 Cast Range instead of 250, which is a significant nerf that will affect its overall effectiveness.
  • Earth Spirit – The hero’s base attack speed is now 95 instead of 100. His Stone Remnant receives nerf because he will have 13 at level 30 instead of 14 at level 28.
Lifestealer – Rage’s cooldown is up by 1 second on all levels, whereas Infest’s Aghanim’s Scepter’s duration is down to 4s (it was 5s before). His level 10 talent also gives him +15 instead of +20 movement speed.
  • Lina – The midlaner’s base INT is now 28 instead of 30 and her damage is 49-57 instead of 51-59. Fiery Soul also provides 7/15/21/28 AS instead of 8/16/24/32 and its duration is 16s instead of 18s.
  • Shadow Fiend – Necromastery’s damage per soul is now 1+ 0.8 damage per 6 levels. Shadowraze will now deal 2 bonus damage per soul instead of 3. Also, his level 15 talent gives +1.5 armor reduction instead of +2.

How did the Dota 2 Community React to the New Update?

It’s safe to say that most Dota 2 players were not particularly impressed with the new updates. A quick look at the Dota 2 Reddit will reveal that people were happy about some of the nerfs, but you can also find frustration about Valve’s lack of information regarding the game’s other aspects. For example, one person wasn ot happy that nothing changed for the Arcade servers.

If you check other social media channels, you can see that people were eagerly waiting for a new Battle Pass and an Arcana for Phoenix. In fact, there were several questions about the new Arcana, so we expect Valve to address that soon.
