Kuaishou Gaming defy odds, beat Wolves to claim first KPL Spring 2026 title

Kuaishou Gaming, a team which was promoted into the KPL just last year, has taken down the region’s best to claim its maiden King Pro League (KPL) title in the spring season of 2026.

The team, who were the underdogs coming into the grand final, demolished Wolves Esports 4–0 to claim the trophy, over $600,000 in prize money, and a spot at the Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC), which will take place as a part of the Esports World Cup (EWC).

For context, coming into the grand final, Kuaishou Gaming had faced Wolves thrice already in the season, but lost all three times.

They lost the opener in just over 12 minutes, and this set the tone for the rest of the series. Wolves went on to lose two more games back-to-back, bringing Kuaishou Gaming to 3–0 in the grand final.

This was reminiscent of the upper bracket semifinal, where the two teams had faced off as well. In this, Kuaishou also won the opening three games, but suffered a reverse sweep from Wolves which knocked them down to the lower bracket.

This time, however, that was not going to be the case. Kuaishou Gaming took game four in front of a packed arena and with it, a historic trophy in what is the 20th season of the KPL.

With this win, the team also got 100 KPL Points. These points are earned across the KPL Spring, Summer, and Challenger Cup tournaments. The top 12 teams then make it to the KPL Grand Finals.

Last year’s KPL Grand Finals set a Guinness World Record for the most attendees for an esports event. Its opening ceremony also earned a nomination at the Webby Awards.

Kuaishou Gaming’s next challenge is in Saudi Arabia

Kuaishou Gaming denied Wolves Esports a spot at the KWC. This year’s KWC is set to be a historic edition as it will also feature teams from Arena of Valor’s regions like Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan.

The tournament will use a different version of the game, combining characters from both Honor of Kings and Arena of Valor.

Kuaishou are joined by defending champions AG.AL, who failed to win the KPL this season after winning it five times over the past two years (including the KPL Grand Finals).
