Dplus KIA beats Gen.G for the third time in a row in the LCK 2026

In the final week of the LCK 2026 Rounds 3-4, Dplus KIA beat Gen.G 2-1. With this victory, DK has now won three consecutive series against GEN, for a head-to-head of 4-3 in their favor over the year.
While this result has no consequence over the standings, it indicates that there is no favorite as we head into the LCK Season playoffs, something that should be kept in mind during esports betting.
Dplus KIA beats Gen.G for the third time in a row
Between 2022 and 2025, DK hadn’t won a single series against Gen.G. From August 8th 2021 to April 11th 2026, GEN won a total of 21 series back-to-back.
Now in 2026, their curse is truly over as they take their third series in a row to push the season head-to-head in their favor for the first time since 2021. Currently at 4-3, DK is the current biggest recipient of Gen.G’s fall from grace in the LCK. Head-to-head is also an important stat to look at in our esports betting guide.

Gen.G has their worst regular season since Spring 2023 despite finishing in first place
Despite this loss, Gen.G still finishes in first while DK remains locked in fourth. DK can’t cross T1 even if they lose their final game. For the same reason, Hanwha Life Esports will lose the tiebreaker against Gen.G on game losses if they beat T1.
The two theoretically current best teams fought over nothing, yet this is significant for them. Heading into the playoffs, they have the confirmation that the standings mean nothing.
For Gen.G whose reign of terror (except at Worlds) seemed unending from 2024 to the start of 2026, this regular season has been anything but. A first place finish is the lowest of what they set the bar to.
Between Summer 2023 and 2025, Gen.G had only lost five regular season matches in two and a half years. In 2026, they’re at seven in one year alone. This is the lowest win rate they’ve had across regular seasons since Spring 2023. Additionally, this is also their lowest game score win rate since Summer 2021.
| Split | Regular season match score | Regular season win rate | Regular season game score | Regular season game win rate | Regular season placement | Split final placement |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spring 2022 | 15-3 | 83% | 30-12 | 71% | 2nd | 2nd |
| Summer 2022 | 17-1 | 94% | 35-5 | 88% | 1st | 1st |
| Spring 2023 | 13-5 | 72% | 30-13 | 70% | 2nd | 1st |
| Summer 2023 | 16-2 | 89% | 32-7 | 82% | 2nd | 1st |
| Spring 2024 | 17-1 | 94% | 34-5 | 87% | 1st | 2nd |
| Summer 2024 | 17-1 | 94% | 35-3 | 92% | 1st | 1st |
| Season 2025 | 29-1 | 97% | 59-11 | 84% | 1st | 1st |

As the LCK 2026 Season playoffs start in under a week, the Legend Group looks as close as ever. Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, T1, Dplus KIA, and KT Rolster all finished between 15 and 19 wins, and any potential favorite could be dismissed with justified counterarguments. Behind them however, the Rise Group is out of the picture barring a major surprise.
That being said, the top four and five spots are the real danger zone of these playoffs. The LCK only has four seeds at Worlds, so one of these five teams will be out. Additionally, the fourth-place team will have to face the LPL in the play-in.
