As The International 2026 kicks off, people are wondering which Dota 2 region is the strongest. China has two experienced rosters, SEA will send its finest, while North and South America will send their best representatives.

However, we can all agree that Europe is in a league of its own, especially now that Western and Eastern Europe are viewed as one competitive ecosystem.

Europe is on another level right now

There was a time when China and Europe were neck and neck, but it’s clear that’s no longer the case. A quick look at the regions for The International 2026 shows that European teams dominate the tournament. The same is true in the global rankings, where PARIVISION, Team Yandex, and BetBoom Team are in the lead.

Instead of having just one team that stands out, Europe dominates with several squads and the recent results prove it. There is no arguing that it is the best Dota 2 region before European teams dominated at the 2026 Esports World Cup.

In fact, Vici Gaming was the only non-European team to finish in the top four, which surprised some Dota 2 betting fans.

Eastern Europe vs Western Europe

Even though Valve decided to combine WEU and EEU into one, it’s interesting to differentiate between the two. WEU has extensive experience and multiple winners, including Team Liquid. Even though some of the teams here haven’t been that high in the Dota 2 regional power rankings recently, WEU packs a lot of experience, and this can make a difference.

Moving on to Eastern Europe, this is the hottest part of the world when it comes to Dota 2. In fact, the region currently holds all TI15 favorites, such as PARIVISION, BetBoom Team, and Team Yandex. Team Spirit is also a squad you should be careful with because they were the best not long ago.

The verdict

An in-depth look at the TI15 regional rankings clearly shows that Europe is leagues ahead of other regions. The region has the best teams right now, and they can play fast and know how to control the game.

Yes, regions like China can be difficult to deal with, especially since TI15 will be in Shanghai. However, it will be hard for Xtreme Gaming and the rest to overcome their European counterparts.
