Faceit now has a Votekick feature

Faceit has finally added a votekick feature for some games in Counter-Strike 2. Here’s how to do it.

Sometimes, a good votekick is the only way to win a game but this feature was long absent from Faceit. Faceit 2.0 is an upgraded version of the platform, introducing a host of new features to improve the competitive gaming experience. Serious CS2 players already preferred Faceit over Valve’s official servers, but with Faceit’s facelift, the platform seems to be heading toward cementing itself as the definitive choice for competitive play.

Faceit had everything CS2 players wanted, save for one crucial feature. It wasn’t possible to eject toxic teammates who may purposefully sabotage a game. Faceit 2.0 changes that with the addition of a votekick feature, but there’s a catch.

Can you votekick on Faceit?

It’s possible to Votekick on Faceit, but only in Super Matches and Premium Super Matches. It will not be enabled in the regular queue.

This means that accessing the feature will require paying the subscription fee and joining premium lobbies. The move is likely aimed at preventing the abuse of the votekick feature, which is often risky for solo queuers.

On Valve’s official Counter-Strike 2 servers, votekick has long been troublesome. Players who queue solo can find themselves matched alongside a group a party of four, and are at their mercy at all times. No longtime Counter-Strike player has played the game without being kicked by a toxic party just a round or two away from a certain victory.

In Faceit’s paid lobbies, the likelihood of serious teammates misusing such features is comparatively lower.

How to votekick on Faceit

Faceit users can initiate a votekick in Counter-Strike 2 by hitting the Esc key and clicking on “call vote.”

The system works much the same as a standard game of Counter-Strike. This includes the threshold for a player being ejected. To kick a teammate successfully, all players on a team must agree. If even one vote dissents, aside from the player being votekicked, the attempt will fail.

Here’s how to Votekick on Faceit:

  • Press Esc and then click on “Call vote”
  • Click on the name of the player that you want to kick
  • All other players in your team will then get a popup to vote to confirm or deny
  • If there are not enough votes by the end of the timer, then the vote will fail.

Faceit discourages players from misusing the feature, and only use it when a player on your team is behaving in a way that may negatively impact the outcome of the match, such as extreme toxicity or griefing.
