Halo Esports Returns to the Big Stage at DreamHack Birmingham 2026

Despite the end of the Halo Championship Series for Halo infinite, and the game’s official move to PlayStation going forwards, there’s some good news for Halo fans as ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) and Halo Studios announces that Halo Esports take center stage at DreamHack Birmingham 2026.

In March 2026, the DreamHack Open Birmingham featuring Halo will host open bracket tournaments across multiple Halo titles, including a mix of 4v4, 2v2, and free-for-all formats. Online qualifiers for the 4v4 events will take place ahead of the festival, giving players worldwide a shot to compete on LAN.

The event marks the start of what organizers are calling “off-season activations” designed to keep the competitive Halo scene active. While the prize pool hasn’t been announced yet, organizers have confirmed there will be cash prizes and player travel support for top contenders.

DreamHack’s connection to Halo runs deep. The festival has previously hosted events for the Halo Championship Series, Halo 5, and the MCC Pro Series. This year’s event aims to build on that legacy while celebrating a major milestone: The 25th anniversary of Halo: Combat Evolved.

“Halo has been part of DreamHack for nearly a decade now and has always delivered an unforgettable experience for the Halo community,” said Tahir “Tashi” Hasandjekaj, Director of Competitive Engagement at Halo Studios. “We’re thankful for our partners for continuing to support the grassroots scene, and we’re excited to contribute prize money and travel as we celebrate 25 years of Halo.”

Adam Apicella of EFG also commented:

“Halo has a very special place in gaming and esports history. With DreamHack Birmingham, the 25th Anniversary of Halo: Combat Evolved, and Halo Fest all happening in 2026, it’s shaping up to be an incredible year for fans.”

DreamHack Birmingham will take place over three days, March 27-29, featuring open competitions, community events, and hands-on experiences for fans.

EFG is a tournament organizer which operates under Saudi Arabia’s Savvy Games Group, a company owned by the country’s Public Investment Fund.
