LEC Summer Split 2026 playoffs betting preview: Odds and favorites

The LEC Summer Split 2026 playoffs will feature the same six teams as during the Spring Split. Formerly the league where everyone beats everyone, upsets have become a rare occurrence with best-of-threes and larger level gaps.

Six playoffs teams remaining

The LEC Summer 2026 playoffs teams (with regular season wins-losses) are:

Playoffs schedule and first matches

• September 5: Round 1 upper bracket matches 1 (VIT vs G2) and 2 (KC vs GX)
• September 6: Round 2 upper bracket
• September 11: Round 1 lower bracket match 1
• September 12: Round 1 lower bracket match 2
• September 18: Round 2 lower bracket
• September 19: Lower final
• September 20: Grand final

Playoffs format

• The LEC Summer Split playoffs is a double-elimination bracket among the remaining six teams.
• The top four teams start in the upper bracket, the remaining two in the lower bracket.
• All matches are Best of 5s.
• The upper bracket matches will take place in the Madrid Arena (Madrid, Spain). The lower bracket round 1 matches then go back to the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, Germany. Lastly, the last three matches head to the Palais Nikaia in Nice, France.

The top three will represent Europe at the League of Legends 2026 World Championship, starting October 25 in Los Angeles. The fourth and fifth places will instead qualify for the Demcia Cup Global Invitational 2026.

LEC Summer Split playoffs: Who are the favorites?

The two obvious favorites to win the LEC Summer Split playoffs are Karmine Corp and G2 Esports. It doesn’t matter what happens, these two are the undisputed best in Europe in 2026.

Usually, Movistar KOI should also be among them, but they’ve lost their claim to a top three spot this split. It’s not out of the picture for them to still finish top three, but that’ll be as the third place rather than challenging for the title.

Team Vitality once again ranked high in the regular season standings, but nobody is fooled anymore.

Regardless of their regular season form, taking a look at the LoL stats, they’ve never had a playoff win rate above 50%. Spring Split was their worst in that regard, going from first place in the regular season to 0-6 in the playoffs. As they now stand in second place, there’s little reason to believe they’ll fare any better in the bracket.

As for Natus Vincere and GIANTX, they only qualify for the playoffs by being noticeably better than the weaker teams. Once there, they stand no chance against the best teams of the LEC.

KC or G2, who will win the LEC Summer Split playoffs?

Which brings us to our real question: will KC or G2 win the LEC Summer Split? In Winter and Spring, they lived the same story. KC places ahead during the regular season, then G2 destroys them in the playoffs. Eventually, they meet again in the final where G2 wins 3-2.

For the Summer Split, the context lines up the same way. KC has looked better in the regular season, but everyone knows that G2 powers up during the playoffs. That being said, Karmine was the only LEC team that played cleanly and didn’t repeatedly throw their leads (which is how they finished the split undefeated).

In the finals, KC always comes dangerously close to winning, before they falter and give G2 the final opportunity they need. Since the last split, both teams have showcased much stronger highs. The problem is that G2 hasn’t improved their lows.

If they play up to their respective Mid-Season Invitational and Esports World Cup highs, G2 and KC will be two fearsome opponents in their live esports match. However, it’s obvious that neither team will manage to hold that level through an entire best-of-five. One of them – and most likely both – will have off moments and off games.

Ultimately, there’s a reason G2 won this matchup almost every single playoffs, across all rosters and circumstances. Once again, G2 Esports is the favorite to win the LEC Summer Split 2026 playoffs.
