MLBB Events Show Off Fine Viewership Stats

In January this year, Mobile Legends’ M7 World Championship delivered one of the biggest esports audiences of 2026. More precisely, the event had over 5.68 million peak viewers during the grand finals between Alter Ego and Aurora Gaming.
While we can state right away that such high peak viewership is extraordinary, it will be interesting to see how it actually stacks up against some of esports’ finest.
MLBB Viewership Stats
Two of MLBB’s biggest international competitions are the World Championship and Mid-Season Cup. There’s the Mobile Legends World Championship, which is the biggest event at the end of every competitive season, and the Mid-Season Cup, more commonly known as the MSC.
Below this intro, you can check out the last three Mobile Legends WC and MSC events and their respective peak and average viewership stats.
| MLBB Event | Peak Viewers | Average Viewers |
| M7 World Championship | 5,680,304 | 960,985 |
| M6 World Championship | 4,129,026 | 648,149 |
| M5 World Championship | 5,067,107 | 437,019 |
| MSC 2026 | 2,890,433 | 455,333 |
| MSC 2025 | 3,069,302 | 548,965 |
| MSC 2024 | 2,382,990 | 369,143 |
As you can see, World Championship stats have been increasing steadily over the last three iterations. The same can’t be said for the Mid-Season Cups. More precisely, the 2026 iteration had lower figures than the 2025 event.
Mobile Legends Was the Biggest Esports Game of H1 2026
MLBB’s popularity isn’t limited to one successful tournament. According to Esports Charts’ H1 2026 rankings, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was the most-watched esports title by peak viewership during the first half of the year.
Its 5.68 million peak viewers put it comfortably ahead of Counter-Strike’s 2.75 million and League of Legends’ 2.27 million. This is particularly impressive considering that both established PC esports titles have extensive international competitive circuits.
The numbers suggest that MLBB is no longer simply challenging individual esports tournaments for viewership records. It has become a major force in the wider competitive gaming landscape.
| Esports Title | Peak Viewers |
| Mobile Legends: Bang Bang | 5,680,511 |
| Counter-Strike | 2,752,353 |
| League of Legends | 2,270,021 |
| PUBG Mobile | 1,077,552 |
| VALORANT | 1,071,916 |
MLBB vs CS2 and LoL Finest
Let’s do some quick comparisons between the biggest LoL, CS2, and MLBB events in terms of peak and average viewership:
| Counter-Strike 2 | Peak Viewers | Average Viewers |
| Cologne 2026 | 2,753,128 | 604,385 |
| Austin 2025 | 1,789,038 | 549,883 |
| Budapest 2025 | 1,587,304 | 503,063 |
| League of Legends | ||
| World 2023 | 6,402,760 | 1,224,907 |
| Worlds 2024 | 6,941,610 | 1,692,922 |
| Worlds 2025 | 6,752,585 | 1,494,960 |
| Mobile Legends | ||
| M7 World Championship | 5,680,304 | 960,985 |
| M6 World Championship | 4,129,026 | 648,149 |
| MSC 2025 | 3,069,302 | 548,965 |
One thing is certain: LoL World Championships still remain the undisputed kings of esports. Year in and year out, the annual LoL Worlds is always the hottest topic in the esports world, with matches averaging well over a million concurrent viewers.
However, it’s worth noting that MLBB’s biggest international tournaments have recently outperformed several major CS2 events in peak and average viewership. That’s exactly what the viewership stats of their top three events suggest. For example, M7 WC had 2.06x peak viewership and 59% higher average viewership.
Esports Viewership Stats in 2026
When it comes to 2026 alone, MLBB stands proudly with 3 of the top 5 events according to peak viewership numbers.
| Most Popular Esports Events in 2026 | ||
| Event | Peak Viewership | Average Viewership |
| M7 World Championship | 5,680,304 | 960,985 |
| MPL Indonesia Season 17 | 2,948,968 | 439,322 |
| Mid Season Cup 2026 | 2,890,433 | 455,333 |
| IEM Cologne Major 2026 | 2,753,128 | 604,385 |
| Mid-Season Invitational 2026 | 2,315,920 | 841,713 |
The only two non-MLBB events in the top 5 are IEM Cologne Major and MSI 2026. Granted, we still don’t have the official LoL Worlds 2026 viewership stats, but we can safely assume it’s going to be either first or second on the list.
At the time of writing this piece (November 6th), the average 2026 LoL World Championship viewership is just above 1 million, while the peak is already at 1,836,125 during the match between T1 and DK.
The Southeast Asian Viewership Factor
One of the biggest reasons behind Mobile Legends’ extraordinary viewership numbers is its strong following across Southeast Asia. Unlike esports titles that rely heavily on audiences in Europe, North America or South Korea, MLBB has built a particularly powerful competitive ecosystem in countries such as Indonesia and the Philippines.
These markets matter for more than just the game’s player base. They also generate enormous audiences for professional competitions. According to Esports Charts, MPL Indonesia Season 15 attracted 113.2 million hours watched in 2025, while its following season surpassed 101 million hours. MPL Philippines also featured prominently among the most-watched mobile esports competitions of the year.
The trend continued in 2026. MPL Indonesia Season 17 reached 2.95 million peak viewers, while MPL Philippines remained another major contributor to MLBB’s international audience.
This regional strength helps explain why Mobile Legends can compete with established PC esports titles in global viewership rankings. Its success doesn’t depend on a single international championship; an extensive regional league structure keeps fans engaged throughout the competitive season.
In other words, MLBB’s enormous audience is not simply a result of one record-breaking Grand Final. It reflects the strength of an entire esports ecosystem, with Southeast Asia at its centre.
The Wrap-Up
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is no longer playing catch-up when it comes to esports viewership. The M7 World Championship pulled in 5.68 million peak viewers, putting it ahead of several major CS2 tournaments and not far behind the biggest League of Legends events.
Of course, peak viewership doesn’t tell the whole story. LoL and CS2 have established competitive circuits, with major tournaments taking place throughout the year. MLBB still has some catching up to do when it comes to maintaining that same level of interest beyond its biggest international events.
Its regional leagues are already attracting huge audiences, particularly in Southeast Asia. If MLBB can build on that popularity and bring more viewers to its competitions throughout the season, there’s little reason to think its growth will stop here.
