The game is a revolving door in terms of items and gameplay changes. Fortnite update patch notes regularly. You must stay on top of these changes if you want the best chance of getting Victory Royales. This page will cover all the changes made across any new Fortnite patch notes.

Patch Notes Fortnite 31.40 – Fortnitemares Returns

As we see every year, Fortnitemares has once again returned. For many gamers, it is their favourite time of year. The map changes, classic weapons are back, and Halloween-themed skins take over the store. So, let’s jump into the changes made for these Fortnite patch notes.

Newest Item Additions

As expected, Epic has added some new unseen items to Fortnite for this year’s Fortnitemares. With the latest collaboration being with the SAW movie franchise, it seemed inevitable that these additions would be SAW-themed.

  • Billy Boom – You can now throw a Boom Billy, a mini-Billy Puppet that locks onto the nearest enemy. It’ll ride a tricycle, then explode on impact. If this is thrown towards you, it is possible to outrun it.
  • Chainsaw—The second significant addition to this update is the chainsaw, a new melee weapon with added mobility. It is excellent when up close to enemies and helps close the gap if you are chasing an enemy.

Returning Items

We also see the return of a few favourites to go with the new items. These items are:

  • Wood Stake Shotgun
  • Pumpkin Launcher (A classic for Fortnitemares)
  • Witch Broom

Jigsaw’s Challenge

Again, the SAW theme continues with this interactive map-wide challenge. To complete the challenge, you must approach the monitor, and Jigsaw will challenge you to duel an enemy player who accepts from another monitor. The challenge puts an explosive Billy-inspired bear mask on you. Then, you or your team must eliminate the person you are duelling against before the time runs out. If you fail, the mask explodes, and you will be eliminated. Completing this challenge gives you loot and the unvaulted Witch Broom.

Horde Rush Returns

In these latest Fortnite update patch notes, we see the return of LTM Horde Rush. You will once again be able to drop with your team and complete quests as you take on wave after wave of monsters. Mod benches have been added to change it up and increase the difficulty.
