Here, we have coverage of the Elisa Masters Espoo. As the event starts, this page will preview the tournament ahead. We’ll closely examine the teams competing in this eight-team format tournament.
The event is only short, spanning from October 16th to October 20th. This page will explore the event’s format, explaining how it works and the prize pool. We will examine the first round of games and match odds to provide general betting advice. This will be your ultimate Elisa Masters Espoo 2024 Preview.
The event has two stages: the Group Stage and the Playoff Stage. The total prize pool is $200,000. Here is a brief explanation of the format and prize pool.
The Group Stage concludes with two teams advancing from each group. The first teams eliminated with a record of 0-2 receive a prize pool share of $5,000 each. Following this, the eliminated teams with a record of 1-2 then receive $10,000 each.
Teams that lose at the semi-final stage each receive $15,000 of prize money. The two final teams then get the most significant share of the prize pool. Finishing as the runner-up wins the team $40,000. Winning the event secures the team a prize of $100,000.
This section will examine all the competing teams and provide insight into their recent form and overall success through 2024. As this is an A-tier event, some high-quality teams are participating.
It has been a relatively successful year for 9z. They performed above expectations at the IEM Dallas, achieving a 3rd-4th place finish in an S-Tier event. A title win followed this in the FiReLEAGUE Global Final, an A-Tier event like this one. However, there have been disappointing performances recently, as they crashed out of the IEM Rio at the earliest stage. It was not the ideal result to come into this event, but they will be determined to put it behind them and perform better here.
This team has a rich history of success in previous years. However, those days seem distant memories lately, as they have completely dropped off in 2024. Their best-place finish is from an A-Tier event where they finished 3rd-4th. This is well below their previous standards. ENCE hopes to perform well here, but it is hard to see them overcome their obvious performance issues lately.
HEROIC’s recent form has been promising. They performed well across the ESL Pro League and recently achieved a high-placed finish in the IEM Rio. Before these performances, it had been a very mediocre year for the team. Regularly participating in S-Tier throughout the year is fantastic, and it sets them up well to compete here with the teams around them.
Once again, we have another team with a rich history of winning. However, their winning ways haven’t followed them through the years; now, they struggle to compete at the highest level. A recent low point for this team is finishing 9th-16th in the CCT Season 2 European Series #13, a B-Tier event. There has been a steady decline in results, but that can all change with one good tournament—perhaps this one.
The MongolZ have had a successful year, winning six titles, ranging from C-Tier to S-Tier. This is one of the more competitive teams participating, and their quality is unmistakable. This roster has now been together for over a year, and they communicate well with each other. They will be quietly confident about winning the event.
B8 has had relative success through 2024. They have won four B-Tier titles and are successful at that level. However, this event has more quality teams, and the jump to A-Tier may be too much. Many teams competing here also compete in S-Tier events, and the leap in quality will likely be too much for B8.
A new team that only entered the CS2 title at the start of the year. No one expects a team’s first year to be successful. As a new team, there is a learning curve that no other team has to go through simultaneously. Attracting top talent as a new team is hard, and no one knows what to expect from the organisation. Rebels qualified for this event by winning a previous event. They won the Elisa Invitational Fall 2024, which guaranteed a place here. It is impressive for a team in their first year to win any title. The quality here will likely be too much for them, but they will perform well.
Often competing around the C-Tier events, it is hard to see how JANO will be able to compete with the other teams here. The jump in quality will likely be too much. They may adjust after the first game and perform better in the second, but a positive result is unlikely for JANO overall.
We will examine the first round of games set for the opening day and discuss betting odds provided by GG.Bet and consider the likely outcome of these matches.
As expected, due to the quality of this Mongolz team, they are firm favourites for this matchup. Looking at GG.Bet the odds for a Mongolz win are 24/100, whereas a B8 win has odds of 27/10. (Odds subject to change.) This is heavily favoured towards MongolZ and should prove to be a smooth series.
As explained previously, JANO will struggle to compete against these teams. The odds that GG.Bet supplies prove that. A Ninjas in Pyjamas win has odds of 1/7. Meanwhile, a JANO win has odds of 7/2. (Odds subject to change.) This is one of the more one-sided bets coming out of the first round of games.
Once again, the odds for this matchup are predictable. Rebels are a new team in their first year and up against a much higher-quality opponent. HEROIC is the firm favourite here, with odds of 1/5 on GG.Bet. The odds for a Rebels win are much slimmer at 14/5. (Odds subject to change.) Rebels should perform well, as each player will want to prove themselves on this new team, but in the end, it should be a relatively comfortable series for HEROIC.
Coming into this series, both teams have shown glimpses of quality throughout the year. However, 9z has performed better overall, so seeing them as the solid favourite to win here is not surprising. At present, the odds of a 9z win on GG.Bet is 5/11. Meanwhile, an ENCE win has odds of 29/20. (Odds subject to change.) It is slightly harder to predict than other matchups, as ENCE can win this if they turn up.
This event has some great teams participating. Some are currently doing well and rising, while others have been struggling but are looking to return to their best. No matter what, it is guaranteed to bring entertainment and competitive play. Check our page regularly if you want to stay updated on CS2 news.
