There’s been a week of hard fought Dota 2 wins in Stockholm and it’s all lead up to this coming weekend. Teams from Europe, North America, South America and Southeast Asia are in it to win valuable DPC points.
After the shock exits of Major veterans such as Team Liquid and Team Spirit, North American fans will be looking to TSM to carry the region to one of their most decisive Dota 2 Major wins.
The formatting of these finals stages of the Major are relatively straightforward compared to earlier stages, which is great news for fans looking to start on Dota 2 betting! The tournament is split into the upper bracket and lower bracket. Teams that proceed through the upper bracket receive another chance at the Finals whereas the lower bracket teams risk elimination with every series.
With the way things currently stand, Tundra and TSM are the only teams remaining in the upper bracket. They’ll be going head to head on Friday to earn themselves a place in the Grand Final. The team that doesn’t make will still have a chance at the finals after fighting their way through the lower bracket semis and final.
Things looks a little different in the lower bracket. Here, there are 6 teams still left:
It’s safe to say that fans are in for a real treat over the next few days when it comes to these teams. Each one is risking elimination so providers like Betrivers will be fully expecting the top TI-level strategies coming out across this bracket.
At the stage of the tournament, Tundra’s performance cannot go unmentioned. Although the team has historically done very well and often earned a place at TI, it seems that players Skiter, Nine, 33, Saksa and Sneyking have really turned up the intensity since going to the Dota 2 Stockholm Major.
Not only did this team win 11/12 games played during the group stage but they have gone 2-0 against all of their upper bracket opponents, making Tundra the most formidable opponent any of the other teams will face at this Major. Their incredible run also resulted in current TI champs Team Spirit getting eliminated from the tournament altogether.
If you’d like to go with a more safe bet like Team Tundra, it’s worth shopping around to find the best odds. A ton of different eSports providers will be vying for your attention when it comes to Dota 2 Majors simply because they’re so popular. Luckily, we’ve got the top Dota 2 betting providers reviewed and ready for you.
We can’t talk about the Dota 2 Stockholm Major without mentioning the South American teams fighting to earn acclaim for their region. Famously, Dota has been dominated by Europe and China so it marks a new phase in the history of Dota that new SA and NA teams are performing so well.
Currently, the only SA team (out of 2!) left in the pool is beastcoast. Although they’ve been dominating SA leagues since their inception in 2019, it’s not often fans get to see them go so far. Their next opponent is BetBoom, which they have previously drawn against in the group stage. If you’re looking for an outside bet, beastcoast is the team for you!
When it comes down to it, it’s pretty impossible to tell who is the safe bet at the Dota 2 Stockholm Major, but that’s what makes it so exciting! No matter which team you’ll be cheering on at the Grand Finals on Sunday, you’ll surely be in for one of the most exciting days in all of eSports.
After the finals of this Major, the teams will return for a third and final DPC tour of the year, which will be the last chance to earn enough points to attend TI11. Taking the time to watch (and bet on!) this Major is the best way to find out what kind of shape the team’s are in going into the final phase of the Dota 2 2022 calendar.
