The LoL Worlds 2026 CBLOL historic performance

Brazil has just concluded their run at LoL Worlds 2026. CBLOL has had a historic performance there, even though they ultimately fell at the eleventh hour and failed to qualify for the Knockout Stage. From beating Cloud9 to losing to LYON, here’s the LoL Worlds 2026 CBLOL story.
The LoL Worlds 2026 CBLOL run
FURIA’s execution of Cloud9
Brazil started showing up in the Play-in Stage. After losing to the LCP, their second seed FURIA played against Cloud9 in the lower bracket. FUR beat the NA representative in a dominant 3-1.
FURIA then lost to MVK Esports once more, but this win remained a stellar achievement. The Play-in Stage was supposed to boil down to two best-of-fives between C9 and Karmine Corp with Brazil and APAC making an act of presence. Instead, FURIA made Cloud9 be the first team out of LoL Worlds 2026.
In doing so, FUR achieved:
- The first ever international best-of-five win for Brazil
- The first ever CBLOL series win against an opponent from a major region.

LØS’s heroic LoL Worlds 2026 CBLOL run
In the Swiss Stage, LØS started the way everyone predicted a team from Brazil to. Facing monstrous opponents in T1 and G2 Esports, they folded and gave both opponents easy wins.
Once at 1-2, they faced one of the only two teams that they supposedly stood a chance against, Team Secret Whales. With the LCP being one step below the top four regions, the match was up in the air. Even then, TSW was still the favorite as the successor to CTBC Flying Oyster and a Bo5 winner at MSI. LØS proved their worth by taking them out 2-0.
Then, they went up against Team Liquid in the 1-2 bracket. This time, the outcome was obvious and everyone from TLAW was elated to draw a CBLOL opponent. However, LØS beat them too. A decisive game 1 victory, followed by two messy maps that they claimed one a piece.
With that win, the CBLOL eliminated a second LCS team at LoL Worlds 2026. Naturally, the Swiss draw for round 5 pitted them against LYON to complete the trifecta.

LØS vs LYON
LØS started off this match by stomping the first game. Afterwards, they looked all but certain to repeat the feat as they went up 8k gold in the second one. However, they misplayed and LYON’s composition scaled, putting them back on even ground.
LYON then rushed the CBLOL base as they were going for Elder Dragon. This is where Brazil showed that they lack the competitive experience to handle these situations. Instead of calmly teleporting to stop the push, LØS’s team fumbled around and lost. Riding that momentum, LYON won game 3 and claimed the quarterfinal spot.
This would have been the first LoL Worlds CBLOL Knockout appearance, and their first time placing above NA. Regardless, this remains their first 2-3 exit and enshrines Brazil as a region to respect.
